Pateh

Susanduzi (Persian embroidery): one of the types of applied art in Iran, which is mainly distributed in the province of Sistan and Balochistan and some other parts of the country. Patterns are embroidered with colored threads on ordinary fabric. This is done with the help of a needle and a hook by creating elegant stitches on the fabric.

Natural colors usually come from henna and pomegranate. Pateh is woven in various types and sizes, including big enough to be spread at tables to decorate them.

We found woven Pateh very special to be seen on our handmade bags as a way to show the appreciation to hardworking nomad ladies of Kerman Province. The luster of fine hand-knotted pateh in harmony with felt looks very stunning.
